2024 Emerging Library Leaders’ Summer School for Asia-Pacific
1. Overview
Are you an emerging leader wanting to lead digital libraries? Or curious about latest trends in digital libraries?
Do you enjoy learning in small groups, sharing best practices, case studies and library visits?
Developed in collaboration with SMU Libraries, the Emerging Library Leaders’ Summer School for Asia-Pacific (ELLSSA) is curated as a bespoke programme for selected participants across the Asia-Pacific
2. Programme objectives
The objective of the programme is to share knowledge, provide insights and learn with other librarians to embrace the digital transformation of their libraries.
Instructional methods will include lectures, group work, case studies and discussions, debates and library visits. Participants benefit from a mentoring programme where they will be assigned a mentor.
3. Learning outcomes
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
– identify trends in the digital transformation of libraries
– acquire skills in developing digital transformation strategies
– develop an action plan to apply best practices within institutional contexts
– participate in a mentoring programme
4. Who should attend?
This programme is for early to mid-career librarians and/or librarians nominated by their institutions as having high potential.
The applicant must be eligible to obtain a visa for travel and comply with the existing COVID-19 protocols in the host country or institution (if applicable).
The applicant must declare that he/she/they is able to fund all other costs that are involved in attending the Emerging Library Leaders’ Summer School for Asia-Pacific (ELLSSA) e.g., all other hotel, travel and subsistence expenses including insurances where applicable etc.
A certificate by the SMU Academy will be awarded to participants upon the successful completion of the programme.
5. Scholarship
Singapore Management University Libraries, with generous sponsorship by Taylor and Francis, is offering five (5) ‘Named Scholarships’ to attend the the Emerging Library Leaders’ Summer School for Asia-Pacific (ELLSSA) in Singapore, between 8 – 12 July 2024.
